Do you know how to choose rotation systems for film blowing machine ?And what’s the difference between them ?

2024-08-15

1.Film blowing machine have two types rotation systems:

A.Down rotary system which work together with die head

B:Haul off rotary work on the top of take up unit

2.The advantages and disadvantages of the two rotation systems are as follows:

A:Down rotary system which work together with die head

-Advantages

360-degree rotation: The lower rotary die can usually achieve 360-degree rotation, which helps to evenly distribute the film bubbles and improve the quality and consistency of the film.

Wide applicability: The lower rotary die is often used in single-screw film blowing machines or composite extruders that do not have particularly high requirements for the film cortex

Cost-effectiveness: Compared with the upper rotary die, the cost of the lower rotary die is usually lower, which is suitable for production lines with limited budgets.

-Disadvantages

Low cooling efficiency: Compared with the upper rotary die, the lower rotary die may be slightly inferior in cooling effect, affecting the transparency and intrinsic quality of the film.

Production limitation: Compared with the upper rotary film blowing machine, the lower rotary system will reduce the overall output because the lengthened flow channel of the rotary system increases the pressure of the film passing through.

B:Haul off rotary work on the top of take up unit

Advantages

Excellent cooling effect: The upper rotary die design helps to improve the cooling effect of the film, thereby improving the transparency of the film and is suitable for the production of high-quality films.

Bubble stability: The system can better control the stability of the film bubble, reduce the risk of bubble rupture, and improve the reliability of the production process.

Adaptable to multi-layer co-extrusion: The upper rotary die is usually used in multi-layer co-extrusion blown film machines, which adds points to the production of high-quality films

High productivity: Due to its optimized design, the upper rotary system can achieve higher output

Disadvantages

High equipment cost: The manufacturing and maintenance costs of the upper rotary die are usually higher than those of the lower rotary system, thereby increasing the overall production cost.

Complexity: The design and operation of this system are relatively complex, requiring a higher level of technology and maintenance capabilities, so the operation difficulty increases.

Edge insertion cannot be achieved: The special structure of the upper rotary die cannot add an edge insertion function to the upper traction frame. If this function is required, an additional edge insertion device needs to be installed
